Switching
Moving from Periskope to MajlisDesk.
Periskope and MajlisDesk both connect your existing number as a linked device of WhatsApp, by QR code. Nothing changes on Meta’s side, and you can run both for a few days before you decide.
What comes with you
- Your number: nothing to move.
- Your chats, synced in from the phone when you connect.
- Your contacts, as they appear in your chats; anything extra from a CSV, imported on Pro.
What stays behind
- Periskope’s private notes, tickets and chat labels. Export them from Periskope as your record: MajlisDesk does not import them.
The steps
Moving from Periskope
Use this if your number is connected to Periskope by QR code (Periskope does not link API numbers).
- Export what you want to keep: in Periskope, Analytics, Data Exports covers chats, messages, private notes and tickets, as CSV.
- Connect MajlisDesk now, while Periskope is still linked. WhatsApp allows up to four linked devices, so both can run side by side while your team tries MajlisDesk.
- When you are happy, unlink Periskope on your phone: WhatsApp, Settings, Linked devices, tap Periskope, Log out. Then end the Periskope subscription.
Then, in MajlisDesk
- Sign up and start the 14-day trial.
- Settings, WhatsApp numbers, Add number: scan the QR code with the WhatsApp Business app on your phone (Settings, Linked devices, Link a device). Your chats sync in from the phone.
- Invite your team. Every plan has unlimited members.
- Optional, on Pro: import the contacts CSV you exported. It matches people by phone number and fills in name, email, company and owner; tick the box if you also want contacts created for people who have not written yet.
Questions
Can I run both at the same time?
Yes, as long as your number has a free linked-device slot. WhatsApp allows up to four linked devices at a time.
Will my chat history come over?
What the WhatsApp Business app on your phone holds syncs into MajlisDesk when you connect. Periskope’s own notes and tickets do not; export them first.
Does anything change on Meta’s side?
No. Both are linked devices of the same WhatsApp account, so there is no API step and nothing to delete.
