- Meta charges per delivered message, by category and by the country code of the person receiving it.
- Replies to customers (service messages) are free for the first 1,000 per WhatsApp number each month, and charged from the 1,001st. This changed on 1 October 2026; before that they were free.
- Utility and authentication templates get cheaper per message at higher monthly volumes (volume tiers). Each message is charged at the tier your running monthly total is in.
- Not included: free messages after a customer clicks a Click-to-WhatsApp ad (free for up to 7 days), and the rates for government and non-profit organisations.

How much does the WhatsApp Business API cost in the UAE?
Meta charges per message. In the UAE a marketing template costs AED 0.2115 (USD 0.0576), a utility or authentication template AED 0.0576 (USD 0.0157) at normal volumes, and a reply to a customer AED 0.0576 after the first 1,000 free each month. Your API provider adds its own plan fee.
How much does the WhatsApp Business API cost in Saudi Arabia?
In Saudi Arabia a marketing template costs SAR 0.2159 (USD 0.0576), a utility or authentication template SAR 0.0401 (USD 0.0107), and a reply to a customer SAR 0.0401 after the first 1,000 free each month.
Are replies to customers free on the WhatsApp API?
Not any more. Since 1 October 2026 each WhatsApp number gets 1,000 free service replies a month, and Meta charges from the 1,001st.
Is there a way to avoid per-message fees?
Yes, if you only need to answer customers: a shared inbox that connects your existing WhatsApp number by QR code, like MajlisDesk, does not go through the API, so there is no per-message charge. It cannot send template broadcasts.
