WhatsApp MCP server

Your team’s WhatsApp, inside Claude and ChatGPT.

MajlisDesk runs an MCP server for the WhatsApp number your team already uses. Connect Claude or ChatGPT once and ask it what is happening in your chats, emails and tickets, in plain words.

The server addresshttps://app.majlisdesk.com/mcp

The same address for every assistant. You sign in to MajlisDesk when you connect; there is no key to copy.

What MCP is, in two lines

The Model Context Protocol is the open standard AI assistants use to connect to outside tools. If your assistant supports remote MCP servers, it can read your MajlisDesk inbox with your permission, the same way it reads a file you give it.

What the assistant can use: 22 tools

Every tool sees exactly what the person who connected it can see in MajlisDesk. Nothing more.

Find and read conversations

  • workspace_overviewHow many chats, groups, contacts and messages, and how much is active.
  • list_chatsChats you can see, newest first, filtered by label or type.
  • read_chatThe recent messages of one chat, in order.
  • search_messagesSearch message text and the transcripts of voice notes.
  • searchOne search across chats, email and contacts.
  • fetchOpen one chat, email thread or contact in full.
  • chat_participantsWho actually posts in a group, and how much.
  • list_labelsEvery label and how many chats carry it.

Follow the work

  • list_ticketsOpen tickets with status, priority, due date and owner.
  • busiest_chatsThe chats carrying the most traffic.
  • chat_activityOne chat: volume, inbound against outbound, how often.
  • activity_timelineMessages per day, for the workspace or one chat.
  • number_healthWhich WhatsApp numbers are connected, and for how long.

Contacts and email

  • find_contactsSearch the shared address book across WhatsApp and email.
  • list_mailboxesThe Gmail and Zoho mailboxes connected to the workspace.
  • search_emailSearch email by subject, sender or text.
  • read_threadRead one email thread in order.

Photos, documents and voice notes

  • list_mediaImages, documents, audio and video shared in your chats.
  • view_imageLook at photos, drawings and scanned documents.
  • transcribe_audioRead what was said in a voice note or video.

Reply (off unless you allow it)

  • send_messageOne WhatsApp reply to one chat where the customer wrote first.
  • send_fileOne file to one such chat, with an optional caption.

What it does

  • Reads the chats, email threads, tickets and contacts you can read in MajlisDesk, and nothing else. A teammate who connects sees their own view, not yours.
  • Signs in with your MajlisDesk password and authenticator code. No API key is created, copied or stored by hand.
  • Reads photos and documents, and voice notes as text.
  • Replies on WhatsApp only if the person approving the connection allows it, and only where the customer wrote first.

What it never does

  • Start a conversation, or message someone who has not written to you. Replies only.
  • Send to many chats at once. One message to one chat, every time.
  • Post in a group unless someone in your team switched on "Allow AI to post" for that group.
  • Act anonymously. Every message it sends is stored with the person and the connection that sent it, and you can remove the connection in Settings at any time.

Things people ask it

  • Which customers have been waiting more than a day for a reply?
  • Summarise what the Al Noor account asked for this week, across WhatsApp and email.
  • What did the site engineer say in yesterday’s voice notes?
  • Which tickets are overdue, and who owns them?
  • Is any of our WhatsApp numbers disconnected right now?

Not the same as Meta’s WhatsApp MCP

Meta’s WhatsApp Business Tools MCP helps developers set up a Cloud API account: phone numbers, message templates, webhooks. It does not read your team’s conversations. MajlisDesk connects the number your team already answers on and lets the assistant read and work that inbox.

How this differs from Meta’s WhatsApp Business MCP

Which plans

  • Reading works on every MajlisDesk plan. Replying needs a plan that includes sending (Starter or Pro).
  • Claude: paid Claude plans (Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise).
  • ChatGPT: Plus, Pro or Business, with developer mode on. The Go and Free plans cannot add connectors at all; that is a limit of the ChatGPT plan.

Questions

What is a WhatsApp MCP server?

A service that lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT read WhatsApp data through the Model Context Protocol. MajlisDesk’s works on the shared inbox your team already uses, together with its email, tickets and contacts.

Do I need the WhatsApp Business API?

No. MajlisDesk connects the number you already use by scanning a QR code, the same way WhatsApp Web does, so there is no API account, template approval or per-message fee.

Can the assistant message my customers?

Only if the person approving the connection allows it, only in a chat where the customer wrote first, and only one message to one chat at a time. Groups need a separate switch. By default it reads and does not send.

Does it see every chat in the workspace?

It sees exactly what the person who connected it can see in MajlisDesk. Private chats and labels outside that person’s access stay out of reach.

Which assistants work?

Claude on paid plans and ChatGPT Plus, Pro or Business, using the steps on their pages. Other assistants that support remote MCP servers with sign-in can use the same address.

How do I disconnect it?

Remove the connector in the assistant, or remove the connection in MajlisDesk under Settings, AI connectors. Either one stops it.
