Data and privacy
Where messages live, who can read them, and what leaving looks like.
You are handing a tool your customer conversations. You should know exactly what happens to them.
Where it lives
- Messages and contacts are stored in a managed database, isolated per workspace. Every query is scoped to your workspace.
- Media — photos, voice notes, documents — is stored in private cloud storage. It is never publicly readable; links are short-lived and single-file.
- The infrastructure runs in the UAE.
Who can read it
- Your team, according to the access rules you set — assignment, sharing and labels.
- Nobody in another workspace. Ever. That boundary is enforced in the queries themselves, not by a filter someone can forget.
- Number masking can hide customer phone numbers from non-privileged roles, so an agent can work a conversation without seeing the number.
Retention and leaving
- Media we have stored is kept for as long as the workspace exists. WhatsApp expires files on its own servers after about 30 days, so anything older than that could never be captured in the first place — the message and its text remain either way.
- You can export your data.
- Settings → Data removes messages and contacts. Tickets and mail are kept by design, and stored media files are not yet removed automatically — write to support@majlisdesk.com for a full closure and we will complete it by hand.
A practical warning worth reading twice: connecting a personal number imports whatever is in its history, including things people sent you years ago. Connect the number you actually use for business.
